I think Ondine is always getting better, it’ like a marriage you get to know your restaurant better as the years go on. the had a great lunch offer that made it great value. We had the shellfish platter for main course, which was served hot. The food we had (terrine, sole, bourguignon, sides, tarte tatin and Panna Cotta) could not be faulted and there was a great drinks list too. Very nice meal in a great location. The restaurant is very modern, light and presented beautifully. It was excellent. Tables well positioned and staff wearing masks. Apparently there were no pepper and salt shakers or mills in the entire restaurant, other than the single mill owned by the head chef! Good size starters, friendly service and nice ambience. & 1/2 Lobster (more clams) superb. If you love seafood, this is the place to go. They are really fresh, clean and they arrive alive – we go through so many! … Service was a little scattered and inconsistent. There is easy parking right outside the Restaurant, and the only comment I would make is was quite noisy but everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves. The lobster was exceptional....My husband enjoyed his fish & chips too. My companions all had the French Onion soup for entree, and were unanimously underwhelmed. As is often the case in restaurants, however, it was served cold, rather than at room temperature. The meal was excellent value at £19.95 for 3 courses and the service and surroundings were discreet, professional and sophisticated. A really fantastic place - we had a brilliant meal with wonderful wine and excellent service too.
